Google says can use undersea cables to detect tsunamis, quake

Google said that it has developed a method to use subsea fiber optic cables to detect earthquakes and tsunamis worldwide. The search giant claimed that the latest method is better than existing one as it uses fibre optic cables and works “over tens of thousands of kilometres” against the “up to 100 km” limit the current sensing tech has. Google is using the same cables instrumental in sharing, searching, sending and receiving information around the globe.
