PM Narendra Modi, in his Independence Day speech, said that India will soon have a new cybersecurity policy as the country is advancing towards a digital landscape. India has the second-highest number of internet users which makes it vulnerable to cybercrimes. Govt. had first prepared a National Cyber Security Policy in 2013. The focus on drafting a new cybersecurity framework comes as a result of ever-growing cyber threats, threatening national security.
