Researchers in the University College of London has set a new record by achieving the world’s fastest internet data transmission rate (DTR) that’d enable downloading the entire Netflix library in less than a sec. The DTR is 178TB/sec – five times faster than the previous one, done by Japanese engineers. It was achieved by transmitting data through a much wider range of colours/wavelength than is typically done in optical fibre cable.
