IT services companies including Infosys, Wipro, and TCS are witnessing hike in benched employees as clients delay or pull back projects, owing to the pandemic. This is expected to impact their margins with lower utilisation of talent. While, there’s a demand in cybersecurity, ML and other such techs, majority of the benched staff lacks skills to plug the gap, resulting in either waiting for them to get trained or laying them off.
