More than one-quarter of companies cite data stores as the most common unsafe service and at risk of unintended exposure, as per a report by RiskRecon. Of the unsafe data stores MySQL is clearly the biggest offender as more than 24% firms expose at least one MySQL database to the internet. Others include PostgreSQL, Samba, and Microsoft SQL Server. Access to MySQL database only requires credentials or database vulnerability, making it highly unsecure.
