Qualcomm launched a new chip for connecting devices to 5G networks that target home internet and inside business users as a competitor to WiFi. The firm is trying to take advantage of the faster speeds possible with 5G network to increase footprints in other markets. The chip called the X65 modem is the first from Qualcomm capable of hitting peak download speeds of up to 10 GPS, about 10x faster than peaks of comparable services.
