IT firm Cognizant Technology will face a trial in a US court as it has been accused of sending employees to the US on cheaper L-1, B-1 visas instead of the more expensive H1B work permit. The lawsuit was filed by the company’s former assistant vice president Jean-Claude Franchitti, under the False Claims Act, while Cognizant argued it does not apply to records and statements made under US Internal Revenue Code.
