UST to add 1,000 employees at Hyderabad centre by 2023

UST, a digital transformation solutions provider, wants to double its staff in Hyderabad and hire 1000 more workers by end of the year 2023. With a team of 250 staff members, UST’s Hyderabad centre debuted in the year 2018. UST has onboarded 500 employees using the virtual onboarding process since the pandemic-induced lockdown in 2020, with all workers working remotely, according to Harilal Neelakantan, Center head for UST, Hyderabad.

Google Workplace now available to all users for seamless hybrid work

Workspace, Google’s integrated communication and collaboration solution, is now available to all Google account holders. Gmail, Chat, Calendar, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Meet, and other Workspace features are available to the company’s 3 bn+ users. A user can enable the integrated experience starting Monday by turning on Google Chat. Google also introduced a subscription offering ‘Workspace Individual’ to help entrepreneurs grow, run, and protect the business.

Cisco adds new feature in Webex to make meetings interactive

Cisco will be adding new features in Webex like background noise cancellation, adding polls and quizzes to make meetings more interactive. While unveiling a new Webex logo, Cisco said that its hybrid work suit will be 40% cheaper than a la carte. 800 new features and devices have been added to Webex since Sept 2020 to enhance the hybrid work module. One of its AI-powered features re-frames participants allowing them to see body language and facial expressions.

Microsoft, ballot makers join hands to allow voters to track vote

Microsoft’s vote tracking system will now be integrated into Hart InterCivic Inc voting machines making them the first company to do so. This program will help people confirm if their vote was cast or not and will add an extra layer of security. Customers across 500 jurisdictions and 17 states will have the final say, whether to adopt the program or not. The voting process remains the same, in the end, voters will get a paper with a QR code that can be used to track their ballot.

Byjus, Google to offer “Learning solution” to Indian schools

Byju and Google have joined hands to bring Google workspace for education and Byju’s content tutelage on the ‘Vidyartha’ platform. All the participating educational institutions will have free access to the platform having chapter-wise slides, data banks, summary docs, handouts, tests, and readymade assignments. The new digitized platform will make it easier for classroom management and aid to organize, access, and track classroom learning.

Infosys uses new-age tech to deliver thrill of French Open amid COVID-19

Roland Garros 2021 and Infosys will use new-age tech — AI, 3D, and cloud solutions — to reach out to viewers, players, coaches, journalists, and broadcasters amidst the spread of COVID-19. The technology will help fans to experience the thrill of watching the game from outside the court on the Roland-Garros app in 3D, commentary, and game insights. Infosys is also using the tech to dynamically resize game videos to publish on different social media platforms.

Real estate demand for data centers may go up by 15-18 mn sq.ft till 2025

Savills India’s report has estimated the rise in demand for real estate for data centers to be 15mn to 18mn sq. ft in the next four years. India currently has just 123 data centers which take over 7.5 mn sq ft area consuming over 650 MW power, also with 8mn+ sq ft and 870 MW capacity of data centers are under construction and will be functional by 2025. Development of over 10 mn sq ft for 1200 MW is in process.

Pune’s Zensor buys US-based data firm M3bi

Pune-based Zensor will acquire US data firm M3bi to expand its presence in the digital space and acquire American clientele.  It will pay $ 33 by 2024 to complete the acquisition, subject to regulatory clearance. The acquisition will help Zensor to five key years including — advanced engineering, data engineering, SaaS, AI, and ML said CEO Ajay S Bhutoria. Further, M3bi will add some fortune 500 companies as Zensor clients.
