Wisdom Capital, the brokerage and trading unit of IT services company Wisdom Group, has acquired ImagineSales, a CRM firm. The company is reportedly setting a new entity, called Wisdom CRM which will focus on SME’s. Deb Mukherjee, Founder and Group CEO, Wisdom Group, said, that the company planned to bring CRM software, cloud telephony, AI chatbots with voice command functionality, encrypted data transfer, etc under one roof.
CRM powerhouse Salesforce has acquired enterprise communication platform Slack in a $27.7 bn megadeal, slightly higher than the market valuation of $ 25 bn. The deal will have Salesforce to compete with arch-rival and sometimes partners like Microsoft, whose Teams product is a direct challenge to Slack. Slack was ripe for the acquisition as at the beginning of the year 2020 it had lost around 40% of its value since it went public.

IBM has developed an integrated CRM and DMS platform for Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. The platform, accessible to 12,400 IOCL distributors covering 130 mn consumers, ensures real-time updates to inventory, orders, and invoices and can help them to respond swiftly to service requests. Salesforce would be hiring 4,000 employees in the next six months, and 12,000 in the next year. The company, even during the pandemic, posted a monster revenue of over $5 bn in the last quarter, putting it on a $20 bn revenue run rate for the first time. It was surprising when the CRM giant laid off 1,000 of its 54,000 employees. If hiring plans go as announced then the company will have approximately 65,000 employees by this time next year.

After acquiring cloud CRM firm Vlocity for $1.33 B, Salesforce has announced Vlocity founder David Schmaier as the CEO of its new division, Salesforce Industries. Vlocity’s CRMs are made on Salesforce which eases their integration, something that most acquisitions struggle with. The new division focuses on verticalized tools, intending to enhance market opportunities. Also, it facilitates dealing with the verticals leading to better revenue generation.
