Nandan Nilekani said that India’s digital economy would go from a prepaid to postpaid in the new decade, driving a huge cycle of consumption and growth. According to Nilekani, the country could be a great place for future SaaS firms and a digital transformation agent for the world. “As people get to digital payments, credit histories, digital transactions they will be ready for the credit,” he said while speaking at an event.
HCL Technologies had announced to acquire DWS last year in Sept and hence completed the acquisition on Jan 5, 2021. This would strengthen HCL’s position in the Australian and New Zealand market. DWS provides a wide range of IT services including digital transformation, application development and support, program and project management and consulting. HCL employees 1600 people in major cities, including Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth.
Appinventiv, in second appraisal cycle of 2020, handed out an average raise of 22% along with performance-linked bonuses to over 600 staff members. It has hired over 100 people during the lockdown and is planning to add over 300 more from the remote locations, said Niharika Rawat, Manager HR, Appinventiv. IBM has signed a multi-year contract with IndiGrid to deploy an AI-enabled hybrid cloud solution with Maximo Apps Suite running on IBM Cloud to optimise the quality and utilisation of assets throughout its lifecycle. The deployment will increase productivity, drive efficiency and reduce operating costs. IndiGrid has 11 projects consisting of 28 transmission lines with more than 6,280 circuit km length and nine substations with 11,460 megavolt amp transformation capacity.
