Alphabet and Nvidia Invest in OpenAI Co-Founder’s Safe Superintelligence Startup

Alphabet and Nvidia have invested in Safe Superintelligence Inc. (SSI), an AI startup co-founded by former OpenAI chief scientist Ilya Sutskever. SSI, recently valued at $32 billion in a funding round led by Greenoaks, aims to develop safe superintelligent AI systems. Alphabet's cloud division is providing SSI with its proprietary Tensor Processing Units (TPUs), marking a strategic shift to offer its AI chips to external clients.
