UK's CMA Clears Microsoft's $13 Billion Investment in OpenAI, Citing No De Facto Control

The UK's Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has concluded that Microsoft's $13 billion investment in OpenAI does not warrant an antitrust investigation. The CMA determined that, while Microsoft holds material influence over OpenAI, it lacks de facto control, thereby not meeting the threshold for a merger review under UK regulations.
