U.S. Engages with Multiple Parties for TikTok Sale Amid National Security Concerns

The U.S. government is actively negotiating with four distinct groups regarding the sale of TikTok, the Chinese-owned social media platform, due to national security concerns. A law effective January 19 mandates that ByteDance, TikTok's parent company, divest its U.S. operations or face a ban. President Trump signed an executive order on January 20, delaying enforcement by 75 days to facilitate a resolution. Among the interested parties is former Los Angeles Dodgers owner Frank McCourt.
