Government Of India Amends IT Rules To Stop Arbitrary Suspension Of Social Media Accounts

<p>The central government notified amendments to the IT Rules 2021 that will give it the authority to rule on the legitimacy of content moderation decisions made by all intermediaries, including social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube, among others. The most recent changes require social media intermediaries to follow the requirements of the Indian Constitution and the country&#39;s sovereign laws.&nbsp;</p>
