New data laws likely to be enacted in 3-4 months: Minister

<p>The government anticipates implementing new data legislation in three to four months, including the Data Privacy Bill and the Digital India Act, according to Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar. By FY26, the digital economy in the nation will be worth $1T, or 25% of the entire GDP. The existing IT Act, which was passed in 2000, is a 22-year-old attempt to control the internet and necessitates the introduction of the new regulatory framework.</p>
