45,191 Twitter accounts in India have been banned for violating guidelines

<p>Twitter in its compliance report said that it banned 45,191 accounts belonging to Indian users in July for breaking its guidelines. This is more accounts blocked than the 43,140 accounts it barred in the previous month. Social media networks with more than 5M members must provide monthly compliance reports in accordance with the new IT Rules 2021. Twitter and the Indian government are engaged in a legal dispute at the Karnataka High Court on content blocking orders.</p>
