APIs in financial services are the new hot target for cybercriminals: Akamai
<p>Akamai Technologies in a report said that there was a dramatic shift by criminals who started targeting APIs, to bypass security controls. During the H2 of FY 2019, up to 75% of all credential abuse attacks against the financial services industry targeted APIs directly. However, not all attacks were exclusively API focused. In August 2019 a single largest credential stuffing attack against a financial services firm was seen, consisting of 5 cr malicious login attempts.</p>
