Australian Defense Communications Platform Targeted by Ransomware Hackers

<p>Authorities reported that communications platform used by Australian military soldiers and defence employees had been the target of a ransomware attack by hackers in a recent surge in cyberattacks against businesses.&nbsp;Defense Assistant Minister Matt Thistlethwaite said that although the ForceNet service, one of the external companies the defence department hires to operate one of its websites, has come under attack, no data have been exposed as of yet.</p>
