Cyberattack against NATO might trigger collective defence clause: Official

<p>Cyberattack on a NATO member state might activate Article 5, the collective defence provision due to fears that the disruption in cyberspace caused by Russia's invasion could spread to other countries. For years, the military alliance has stated that a serious hack may trigger the clause, but such a scenario has primarily been speculative. Allies also recognise that the impact of major malicious cyber actions might be considered an armed attack in some circumstances.</p>
