Google Dialer, Messages app sends data to Google without user approval : Reports
<p>Douglas Leith, a computer science lecturer at Trinity College, discovered that Google Dialer and Messages apps collect and transfer user data to Google without the requisite permissions in an in-depth study report titled "What Data Do The Google Dialer and Messages Apps for Android Send to Google?". According to the research, the apps collect data like the SHA256 hashes of messages along with timestamps of the messages, contact details, incoming and outgoing call logs. </p>
