Hong Kong Releases Draft Law to Bolster Cybersecurity for Critical Infrastructures
Hong Kong has introduced the Protection of Critical Infrastructures (Computer Systems) Bill, aiming to enhance cybersecurity for essential services. The proposed legislation mandates that operators of critical infrastructures (CIs) implement stringent security measures for their computer systems, with penalties for non-compliance ranging from HKD 300,000 to HKD 5 million. Organizations are advised to assess their cybersecurity frameworks to ensure readiness for compliance.
