Japan Faces Prolonged Cyber-Attacks Linked to China's MirrorFace
Since 2019, Japan has been targeted by cyber-attacks attributed to MirrorFace, a China-linked threat actor associated with APT10. These attacks have focused on government bodies, think tanks, politicians, and media outlets, aiming to steal sensitive national security information. The attackers employed spear-phishing emails and malware like LODEINFO and NOOPDOOR. Authorities have linked MirrorFace to over 200 cyber incidents affecting various sectors.
