NCSC warns paying ransom won't keep data secure amidst rise of ransomware attacks

<p>The National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) and Information Commissioner&#39;s Office (ICO) are requesting solicitors to advise their clients that paying the ransom won&#39;t keep their data safe since the number of businesses paying one after a ransomware assault is increasing. The NCSC and ICO claim in a joint letter to The Law Society that ransomware payments have increased and that in certain circumstances, lawyers &quot;may have been recommending clients to pay&quot; ransoms.</p>
