New Zealand tech giants to self-regulate harmful content

<p>Major digital corporations decided to forego government control in favour of reducing dangerous online content in New Zealand. According to Netsafe, a government-funded internet safety organisation, Twitter, Amazon.com Inc., TikTok, Meta Platforms Inc., and Alphabet-owned Google have all signed a code of conduct. The businesses would abide by the code as self-regulation, says Netsafe CEO Brent Carey.</p>
