Notorious ransomware group Maze says it’s shutting down

<p>Ransomware group Maze said it is &ldquo;officially closed.&rdquo; The announcement, full of spelling mistakes, was made on its website on the dark web. Maze exploited vulnerable VPN and remote desktop servers to launch targeted attacks. Some of the groups demand reached into the millions i.e $ 6 mn from one Georgia-based wire and cable manufacturer, $15 mn from one unnamed organisation. Security experts, however, are still not celebrating the news.</p>
