RBI extends deadline for card tokenization by three months

<p>The deadline for tokenising debit and credit cards has been extended by another three months, to September 30, 2022, according to an announcement from the RBI. The RBI had previously given retailers and payment aggregators till June 30 to destroy all card information and replace it with tokens. According to the regulator, industry stakeholders have raised a few concerns about the framework&#39;s implementation with regard to guest checkout transactions.</p>
