"Tightened" Version of Data Protection Draft Could be Introduced to Parliament

<p>Leading officials predict that the Personal Data Protection (PDP) Bill will finally be introduced to lawmakers during the budget session of Parliament in early 2023. The Center is preparing to release a revised draught of the PDP Bill for public consultation later this month or at the beginning of November. In the current version, mooted in 2017 certain aspects are being "tightened" and "explanatory" additions are being created in response to criticism.</p>
