Hertz Data Breach Exposes Customer Information via Vendor Cyberattack

Hertz has disclosed a data breach affecting customer information, including names, contact details, birth dates, driver's license numbers, and payment card data. A smaller subset of customers also had their Social Security and passport numbers compromised. The breach resulted from a cyberattack on Cleo Communications a third-party vendor between October & December 2024. Hertz confirmed that its internal systems were not breached & is offering identity monitoring services to affected individuals.
