IndiaAI Mission Receives 187 Proposals for Sovereign AI Models, Doubling Initial Submissions

The IndiaAI Mission has garnered 120 new applications in its second round, doubling the 67 received initially, totaling 187 proposals. This surge includes interest from international firms planning to establish operations in India to develop government-backed AI models. The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) aims to approve select proposals by the end of the fiscal year, reflecting India's growing prominence in the global AI landscape.
