Ofcom Releases Draft Code of Practice on Illegal Content
Ofcom, the UK’s online safety regulator, has released a draft code of practice on illegal content. The regulator is urging digital businesses to take steps to protect people from illegal harm online while upholding freedom of expression. The draft code of practice provides recommendations to help companies make decisions on how to adapt their services to avoid the risk of being found in breach of a regime that empowers Ofcom to levy fines of up to 10% of global annual turnover for violations.
