New Database of age, bridge condition to be formulated under new framework

<p>Nitin Gadkari, the Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways has announced that the centre will formulate a new policy framework for bridges. Under the framework, which is called the Indian Bridge Management System, a new Database of bridge age and condition will be created and maintained. Gadkari also announced that the centre was considering using stainless steel for bridges near the seashore, to help reinforce and strengthen them.<br /> &nbsp;</p>
