Adobe acquires collaborative design platform Figma for $20B, to web designers’ dismay

<p>Figma, which was initially marketed as an alternative to Adobe&rsquo;s exclusive desk tools has been acquired by Adobe in a $20B deal. Web designers raised a hue and cry about the deal on social media, mourning this &ldquo;backstabbing&rdquo; and selling out of yet another open source service. With the acquisition, Adobe can now include FIgma&rsquo;s creative tools into its creative apps. However, Figma maintains that it will continue to operate autonomously.<br /> &nbsp;</p>
