Amazon's Cloud Unit Wants to Expand Appeal of Cashier-less Stores

<p>Amazon.com Inc intends to engage a broader range of sectors in the technology it built for cashier-less checkout in brick-and-mortar stores according to a vice president. In recent years, the e-commerce business has developed cashier-less storefronts in which cameras and sensors assess what shoppers take and bill them after they leave.&nbsp;It has been selling these systems to food and retail markets in airports, and university stadiums, and a convention centre since 2020.</p>
