Apple Defies Tech Industry-Wide Massive Layoffs

<p>Apple is conspicuously missing from this list. The company hasn't had a history of big layoffs since Steve Jobs' departure in 1997. Apple has hired at a much more modest rate than its large tech company counterparts. Perhaps because it didn't bring in so many employees, that could account for the fact that it has yet to make big layoffs. The last big layoffs were in 1997 when Steve Jobs was ousted as CEO and laid off 4,100 employees. </p>
