China rebukes 43 apps for flouting data transfer rules

<p>China&#39;s Minister of Industry and IT reprimanded 43 major apps, including Tencent&#39;s WeChat, for flouting rules. The apps were found to have illegally transferred user data, locations, and showed multiple popups to users. MIIT stated the apps will have till August 25 to make rectifications, before they will be punished under relevant laws.
