COVID-19 impact: Mozilla cuts 250 jobs as pandemic hits revenue

<p>Mozilla has trimmed 25% of its workforce. The browser maker has cut 250 jobs to reduce web improvement spendings. Security teams are the worst-hit by the layoffs. The firm is also closing its office in Taipei, Taiwan. Mozilla, affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, relies on its Firefox browser for a large part of its revenue. But its usage has dropped from 300M users in 2017 to 210M users today. &ldquo;The job cuts at Mozilla are painful but necessary&rdquo;, CEO Baker said.</p>
