COVID-19 impact: Mozilla cuts 250 jobs as pandemic hits revenue

<p>Mozilla has trimmed 25% of its workforce. The browser maker has cut 250 jobs to reduce web improvement spendings. Security teams are the worst-hit by the layoffs. The firm is also closing its office in Taipei, Taiwan. Mozilla, affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, relies on its Firefox browser for a large part of its revenue. But its usage has dropped from 300M users in 2017 to 210M users today. “The job cuts at Mozilla are painful but necessary”, CEO Baker said.</p>
