DoT begins process of auctioning off more spectrum for 5G

<p>The Department of Telecommunications has started a process to release and sell an additional 5G spectrum worth over Rs 35,000 Cr, spanning 5,500 MHz. This occurs not long after the government received an auction revenue record of 1.5 lakh Cr. The DoT has established an internal group to develop a plan for designating 37.0-42.5 GHz as international mobile telecommunications bands, allowing telecom operators to utilize the spectrum.</p>
