Equinix spends $9M on land in Chennai to build new data centre

<p>Equinix, a data centre company based in the US, has announced a $9M long-term leasehold acquisition of 5.5 acres of land in Chennai. The land sits in Siruseri, which is known as Chennai&#39;s IT Corridor and is home to major and future IT parks as well as well-established telecom networks. The IT load capacity of the Chennai data center is currently unknown, according to the data center operator. Equinix&#39;s current IT capacity in India is 8.5MW (in Mumbai).</p>
