Equinix spends $9M on land in Chennai to build new data centre
<p>Equinix, a data centre company based in the US, has announced a $9M long-term leasehold acquisition of 5.5 acres of land in Chennai. The land sits in Siruseri, which is known as Chennai's IT Corridor and is home to major and future IT parks as well as well-established telecom networks. The IT load capacity of the Chennai data center is currently unknown, according to the data center operator. Equinix's current IT capacity in India is 8.5MW (in Mumbai).</p>
