EU agrees on USB Type-C common charger rules

<p>EU legislators have tentatively agreed on a standard charging method for smartphones, laptops, tablets, and other small and medium-sized electronics. USB Type-C will be the standard charging port for in-scope electronics by autumn 2024. EU consumers will have the option of purchasing a new device with or without an external power supply under the new guidelines. Devices that were put on the market before to this date will not have to comply.</p>
