EU proposes a €43 B strategy to address Europe's chip deficit

<p>The European Chips Act, passed by the EU Commission this week, brings together €43 billion in public and private support for the industry. The act has an end goal of increasing the EU's share of worldwide chip production from 9% to 20% by 2030. The EU has planned to enhance leadership in semiconductor chip development and manufacture for years, but the global supply chain crisis caused by the pandemic has made these efforts even more urgent.</p>
