EU Sanctions Russian Intelligence, North Korean, Chinese firms over alleged cyberattacks
<p>Travel and Financial sanctions on Russia’s military intelligence department were imposed due to suspected involvement in two cyberattacks in June 2017, which resulted in large financial losses to several European firms. North Korean firm Chosun Expo was banned for having supported cybercriminal group Lazarus. Chinese firm Haitai Technology was barred for having supported ‘Operation Cloud Hopper’ that was aimed at stealing global firms’ sensitive data.</p>
