Google will shut down Hangouts and encourage users to use chat instead

<p>Google, a global leader in technology, has stated that it is beginning the migration of free, personal Hangouts users to Chat, which it had previously promised in October 2020. Before Hangouts is discontinued in November 2022, the company advised customers who want to save a copy of their data to utilize Google Takeout to download it. Users who switch to Google Chat will be able to modify Docs, Slides, and sheets, said Google.</p>
