Governments allocate Rs 100 Cr for chip design programs

<p>The Indian govt stated that it recognises the importance of semiconductor design and has budgeted Rs 100 Cr for chip design-related programs in the current FY. IT minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said Indian design engineers produce several design patents and IPR. He also stated that the govt is working to broaden and deepen the ESDM sector through semiconductor design. SCL, GAETEC, and SITAR currently have semiconductor wafer fabrication facilities.<br /> </p>
