Huge win for Germany as Intel divides chip investment across six EU countries
<p>Intel has chosen Germany as the site for a massive new chipmaking plant, revealing the first details of a $88B European investment push. In the aftermath of the EU referendum, Intel is looking to reduce its dependency on imports and ease the supply shortage for manufacturers. The US chipmaker is investing in six European countries, including expanding its existing factory in Ireland, establishing an R&D facility in France, and a packaging and assembly facility in Italy.</p>
