Hyundai Motors eyes Korean self-driving startup without lidar 42dot

<p>Hyundai Motor is debating whether to buy out its entire stake in the lidar-free autonomous mobility platform 42dot in South Korea. Although the stake amount and deal pricing have not yet been determined, the firm is in discussions with Hyundai Motors. The three-year-old business now has a 20.4% share owned by Hyundai. The announcement follows 42dot's Series A financing round, in which it raised $88.5M at a valuation of approximately $425M.</p>
