IIT Roorkee receives Rs 20cr grant from SKAN research trust

<p>SKAN research backed by Ashok Soota has granted Rs 20 cr to IIT-Roorkee for having a chair professorship, three faculty fellowships, creation of a lab, and funding of joint research projects. The first project under this funding is bipolar diseases. Soota is an IIT-R alumnus and sees this as a way to give back to his alma mater. SKAN is a public charitable trust set up for medical research with Soota as the chairman and managing trustee.</p>
