India apex court seeks confirmation if Whatsapp following data localisation norms

<p>The Supreme Court of India has asked the central bank to report within six weeks if Whatsapp, which is ready to launch its peer-to-peer payment service &ndash; has complied with the data localisation norms. The Indian central bank last year has come out with the directive that all payments data should be stored in the country for &ldquo;unfettered supervisory access&rdquo;.</p>
