Indian automaker Tata Motors plans to sell 50,000 electric vehicles by year's end

<p> Mumbai-headquartered Tata Motors aims to sell 50,000 electric vehicles by the end of its fiscal year, which ends on March 31, company chairperson N Chandrasekharan said. The move toward EVs is in line with a national initiative to increase the percentage of electric passenger vehicles sold in India to up to 30% by 2030 from its current 1 percent level. 80 percent of two-wheeler sales, up from 2 percent today, will be made up of e-scooters and e-bikes.</p>
