Jay Y Lee Appointed Executive Chairman of Samsung Amid Global Economic Crisis

<p>Two months after the heir got a presidential pardon that cleared the 54-year-criminal old&#39;s record, Samsung Electronics has named Jay Y. Lee as the executive chairman to run the largest smartphone and memory chipmaker in the world. After the passing of his father Kun-hee Lee, the late chairman of the Samsung Group, in 2020, Lee, who has served as vice chairman of Samsung since 2012, was tipped to become the company&#39;s new CEO.</p>
