Kerala to provide free Internet for poor families, govt offices by Dec

<p>Kerala is set to providing free, high-speed Internet access to schools, public offices, and poor households by December. The project named Kerala Fiber Optic Network is in its last leg as 80% laying of fibre optics is completed. With intend to make digital connectivity a basic right, the project is similar to the government of India&#39;s BharatNet project. BharatNet aims to provide free Internet for more than 20 lakh poor families and over 30,000 govt institutions.</p>
